Meet Max!

Three years ago I met an angle. He has deep brown eyes, had droopy ears, and was just so scared. Now, he is the most loving and happy dog ever. His eyes are still a deep brown, but they are happy eyes now. He has a constant smile plastered on his face at all times. Max is turning three today and I am just so excited to share his life before and after his rescue. We are going to cover the first three years. I hope everyone enjoys the story of Max, the best boy in the world!

May 12, 2018 I was in a bad place in my life and I was looking for a dog, any dog. I got a text from one of my bosses and there was a picture of this innocent little ball of fur curled up in a ball in a cage. He looked so sweet I drove to the local pet store where animal control was having a fund raiser to get dogs adopted. When I got there, I talked with the adoption people and was sent the animal control building to sign the papers.

After a few months, I happened to be scrolling the animal controls Facebook page and I found a post about Max. They gave this poor little three-month-old puppy a week to get adopted before they would have euthanized him. For three years, that has stuck with me. He was just three months old; how could no one want him?

I adopted him that same day and took him to a friend’s house so they could house him for me while I got out of the dorms. They held on to him for about four months for me and eventually I got out of the dorms and moved Max with me. He had a field day seeing the new place. He was just running around sniffing everything and I mean everything!

Fast forward three years and we are celebrating Max’s third birthday! He is getting peanut butter flavored cake and ice cream from Chewy. He will also be getting one of those tug of war toys that suction to the floor because his favorite game besides chase is tug of war.

He loved his cake and ice cream! Gobbed it down in a heartbeat! He had so much fun, getting things he normally doesn’t get. The cake didn’t turn out quit how I wanted but judging by his face, he didn’t care. That is Max! There will be more to come on this handsome Carolina dog shepherd mix boy. I hope everyone enjoys reading and learning about this weird but extremely amazing dog.
